Kathryn Canavan, who worked on daily newspapers in four states, is the author of  “Lincoln’s Final Hours” from University Press of Kentucky, “True Crime Philadelphia” from Lyons/Globe Pequot, and “Killer in the House: Ten Days of Terror in a Pennsylvania Suburb.”

She is a former dinosaur docent, Parent Teacher Association president and was a volunteer with the nation’s first Cub Scout troop exclusively for boys living in shelters or on the street.
